Getting the axe

Our first non-smelly, actually painted, with proper ventalation house.

We finally got it! And we moved in last night. So it's just a small split level 3 bedroom town home, but will hopefully be the good investment we are planning on using it for. The couple we bought it from kept it in great condition, made lots of upgrades, and left it really clean. I'm sure I'll want to paint some of it but the paint is pretty fresh and very nicely done, so I could slack off for a while if I want.

 Front room
Front room taken from the dining room.
 Dining room
Kitchen they fixed it to put the microwave in over the stove which is a great help to the limited counter space. And my favorite part is the upgraded oven. Convection air and deeper and wider than a regular oven. Plus the inside of it is a pretty royal blue, which just happens to be my favorite color.
Half bath on the first floor. The plan is to put a shower and stackable washer and dryer back in there to make 2 whole baths.
Front entry from the top of the stairs.
Master bedroom. With an entrance to the bathroom.
 2nd full bathroom.
2nd bedroom. Our guest bedroom. So come and visit we have a Queen size bed to put in there.
Third- Soon to be baby room.
 Helpers.

Most of the helpers we're too busy helping. Luckily they all came or else it would have been a lot of me looking at Bryan work.  I'm sure I'll take more pictures once we've actually moved in but this is for my family so I didn't have to text a million pictures.

Bridal Shower

So I back to the wedding. I wanted to post about this before we moved on to other things in life so I better get on it. To date these were the best days of my life. Being older and the last to get married turned out to be a great advantage, I milked more out of it by reminding my mom how great of a miracle it was that I was getting married. I'll start with the bridal shower and hopefully get to the rest soon. (If I ever get my wedding pictures back... jk jk jessica.) My sisters and mom definitely went above and beyond to help me celebrate.
I love my Ririe girls! And Shantay!

Best friends through my life including sisters, roommates, girls that have felt like sisters, students, cousins, and new in laws- I have the best friends!

So many girls that mean so much to me. Plus I got hooked up! Well it seemed like a whirlwind, but really we had been dating since November and took things so slow.... Until we decided to get married and it hasn't seem to slow down since.

Wickedly Wicked

The show that I am probably the last person to see. But I saw it and it was AWESOME!

I know what you're thinking... Bryan needs to get me a new camera for Christmas. I know, I've asked, we'll see...

This was poor Bryan almost the whole time I was there. He got an infection in a tooth the dentist had just repaired. It was bad! Luckily on Saturday the dentist was able to see him right before we went to the show. He numbed him up real good. Then we went off to the show. If he hadn't I guess I would have had to leave Bryan home in misery while I enjoyed wicked alone. Seriously I was not going to miss out on another opportunity to see this show.

This trip worked out so well. I was asked to go to a training for school in Orlando the second week of October. The other teachers and I had one day to do Disney, so we hit 4 parks in one day.... exhausting. Then from there to Virginia. I had a fall break the next week so I didn't have to take too many days off and was able to spend the whole week with Bryan. Finally! And he comes home tomorrow! So glad to be done.

If you are reading this you need to blog more. It gives me stuff to do while I'm supposed to be working. Thanks!

Labor Day

Welcome to
This is the way I like my crab..... dead.... with melted butter.
Well so far in our marriage Bryan has lived through an earthquake & a hurricane, in the totally unprepared east coast. I wish I would have been there... nothing cool happens in Utah.
Some pictures of the Irene's passing.

North Carolina First in Flight.

We were in Kill Devil Hills where the Wright brothers took flight. You would think that would be the decor of the tourist town. Nope, it was Pirates/Christmas. Really? Ok pirates are cool, but I'm sure other places have that claim to fame. No one has flight, and it's kind of a big deal. And Christmas? Why? I mean I have no problem with Christmas, but in a beach town? And the two combined together??? Really?

And on the way home Carolina BBQ & Cowboy Pigs.

After this summer I feel very American. First of all I married a military man. And then spent the rest of the summer in the heart of where our country began. If I didn't feel prouder to be an american after all of that I should be forced to leave the country. It was fun to learn more about the Revolutionary war and Civil war. I have always been more interested in WWII stories, maybe because my grandpa served then. Plus there is something so intriguing to me about the Holocaust. It was an amazing experience, that makes up a little for these couple of months we have to spend apart. Bryan's parents came out to visit us and I think we hit up every battlefield, reenactment field, and museum ever created. We went all around Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg soaking up the history, it was so fun.

We got to the governor's palace after it was closed but found a gate opened a crack. We asked a security guard if we could go in and walk around, and he just shrugged his shoulders like he didn't care...

I met Bryan's parents at Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's house. It was very impressive, and interesting to learn about how incredibly smart he was.

We went to the watermelon festival in Richmond on Cary street. It was cute but so hot that day. I had the worst corn dog of my life there. And I am a lover of anything hot dog.

We also went to Busch Gardens. I didn't want to pack my camera around, so no pictures. Maybe Bryan's parents have some. I went on the scariest ride of my life there and have nothing to show for it.
